American actor Courtney Thorne Smith was born on the 8th of November, 1967. Her best-known work is her roles in Melrose Place as Alison Parker on Melrose Place, Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal, Cheryl in According to Jim as well as her recurring role in Two and a Half Men as Lyndsey McElroy. Thorne Smith was raised in Menlo Park in the south of San Francisco. Her father, Walter Smith, was a market researcher for computers, as was her mother, Lora Thorne, was a Therapist. Courtney, who was seven years old at the time, separated from her father, Walter Smith. She lived with both of her parents, at various times. Jennifer is her older sister, is an advertising executive. In 1985, she graduated from Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley, California. While in the high school, she also participated in the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley. Thorne Smith made her first on screen in 1986's Lucas alongside Winona Ryder and Corey Haim. She was also involved in several films in the late 1980s, like Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise (1987), Summer School (1987) and Side Out (1990). In 1998, she starred in the box office failure Chairman of the Board , starring Carrot Top. In 2009 she was the lead in Sorority Wars. In the 1990s, Thorne-Smith was a lover of Andrew Shue, her on-screen lover from Melrose Place. In June 2000, she got married to Andrew Conrad, a geneticist. The couple broke up in January 2001. On January 1st 2007, she was married Roger Fishman, president of the marketing firm called the Zizo Group and author of the book What I Know. The couple welcomed Jacob Emerson Fishman on January 11, 2008, at 40.
