Moss, born 13th February 1977 is a former American football player. He played
for the Minnesota Vikings (Oak Raiders), New England Patriots (New England
Patriots), Tennessee Titans (Tennessee Titans) and the San Francisco 49ers in
the National Football League. He is widely recognized as Jerry Rice's best wide
receiver. He holds the NFL single season record for touchdown receptions of 23
in 2007, the NFL rookie single-season touchdown reception records (17 in 1998)
and is the second player on the NFL's all-time regular season touchdown
reception list with 156. Moss was well-known for his skill in securing an
elusive catch and the term "mossed" is now part of football's
lexicon. Following his football career, he started working as a studio analyst
for ESPN for the Sunday NFL Countdown program and Monday Night Countdown. Moss
was born at Rand, West Virginia. Moss attended DuPont High School. This was one
of the two schools that later amalgamated to form Riverside High School. He
excelled at football, basketball and baseball. Randy was also a member of the
school's debate team. Moss was a DuPont Panthers' football player who led them
to two consecutive state championships, 1992 and 1993. His primary position was
wide receiver. But he also played free safety, punted kickoffs, and was the
team's punter as well as kicker. He won the Kennedy Award for West Virginia
Football Player's of the Year in 1994. Parade magazine named him to their
annual All-American high school football team in 1995. in 2009 named him among
the 50 best football players in high school of all time.
